CipherCloud and BlackBerry Partner to Provide End-to-End Cloud Security

CHICAGO, IL February 14, 2017 CipherCloud a leader in cloud security and visibility, and BlackBerry Limited (NASDAQ: BBRY; TSX: BB) today announced they will partner to deliver enhanced visibility, management control, and security to customers using cloud services as part of their mobility infrastructure. Through this partnership, enterprise and government customers will now be able to use CipherCloud’s Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) solution and BlackBerry UEM to ensure their data and corporate assets are protected at all times – from desktop to smartphone to the cloud and back.

This is important for the growing number of BYOD environments and the rapidly growing cloud adoption in enterprises. In a recent survey by Osterman Research, 87 percent expressed concern about cloud data protection and threats to cloud applications. Gartner estimates that by 2020, 85 percent of large enterprises will use a CASB for their cloud services.

“We are pleased to partner with BlackBerry to meet the growing challenges of cloud security and BYOD,” said Dev Ghoshal, SVP of Global Alliances at CipherCloud. “Our comprehensive CASB platform and advanced end-to-end data protection capabilities are a natural fit to BlackBerry’s industry-leading secure enterprise platform. Together these should enable businesses to fully leverage the cloud and mobility while ensuring that sensitive data is always protected.”

At the core of BlackBerry Secure, BlackBerry UEM delivers complete, unified endpoint management and policy control for the diverse and growing fleet of devices and apps. With its single management console and trusted end-to-end security model, BlackBerry UEM is designed to help increase the productivity of mobile workforces while ensuring the full protection of their business data on-premise and in the cloud.

“BlackBerry’s partnership with CipherCloud will ensure that only authorized users have access to sensitive enterprise data which is stored in the cloud,” said Billy Ho, Executive Vice President Enterprise Products & Value Added Solutions at BlackBerry. “We help businesses to securely transmit sensitive data between all endpoints to keep information and documents safe in the cloud.”

CipherCloud provides comprehensive visibility and control over data as it goes from the enterprise to any location in the cloud, as well as mobile devices. By providing a control point for data going to and from the cloud, CipherCloud makes it easy to ensure end-to-end data protection, data residency, regulatory compliance, prevent data leaks, encrypt or tokenize sensitive data and get unrivaled visibility into cloud activity.
