CipherCloud Introduces Advanced Data Protection for SAP® SuccessFactors® Solutions

Customer-Controlled Encryption Enables Compliance with Global Data Privacy Requirements

SAN JOSE, CALIF. November 15, 2016 CipherCloud a leader in cloud security and governance, today announced the availability of new advanced data-protection capabilities for SAP® SuccessFactors® solutions. Built on CipherCloud’s industry-leading Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) platform, the new capabilities help deliver advanced encryption and customer-controlled key management, enabling enterprises to retain full control over sensitive data and meet complex global data privacy requirements as they move to the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite in the cloud.

As enterprises increasingly move sensitive data to the cloud, they face challenges complying with data privacy, data residency and industry regulations. CipherCloud provides persistent, end-to-end data protection—known as Active Encryption—to encrypt data in use, protecting it from insidious threats including account hijacking, insecure APIs and forced government disclosure. The solution allows enterprises to maintain complete control over sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access because the encryption keys are never shared with outsiders.

CipherCloud collaborated closely with SAP to tightly integrate data protection with the cloud-based SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite, defining specific personally identifiable information (PII) to be protected. CipherCloud leads the industry in preserving the functionality of encrypted data, for searching, sorting, reporting, third-party tools and mobile access, maintaining a seamless customer experience. CipherCloud solutions have been adopted by leading global enterprises in highly regulated industries including banking, financial services, defense, healthcare, life science, telecommunications and government. The solution is designed to help support compliance with strict global data privacy laws including GLBA, HIPAA, PCI and the upcoming European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

CipherCloud and SAP will jointly host a Webinar “Enabling SAP SuccessFactors with Data Protection from CipherCloud” on November 17, 2016. Register now.

“We are very excited to be the CASB player chosen by SAP to help drive adoption of SAP SuccessFactors solutions,” said Dev Ghoshal, senior vice president of Global Alliances & Customer Success at CipherCloud. “Our team has collaborated closely with SAP to develop a solution that enables customers to confidently adopt the cloud, while maintaining exclusive control over their sensitive data and complying with an increasingly complex web of data privacy requirements like GDPR.”

“As enterprise customers move an increasing amount of sensitive and regulated data to the cloud, we are excited to offer a customer-managed encryption solution through CipherCloud,” said Adam Kovalevsky, executive vice president of Product Management, Engineering & Operations at SAP SuccessFactors. “We’re helping our customers to protect and control their sensitive data while taking full advantage of our cloud-based HCM solutions.”
